Lacrosse, a Tribal Tradition...

"Dear Creator, we thank you for the opportunity to play your game."

Members of the 10Sticks and Nadzitsaga lacrosse club teams gathered together at the center the Two Eagle River School football field on the Flathead Indian Reservation and prayed.

The roots of lacrosse, a game only beginning to grow in popularity in the Northwest, are deeply imbedded in the Native American tradition. The program in Pablo, Mont., is working to reintroduce the game and the significance in their cultural history.

Learning to be Square... Again...

When I was in journalism school, and even after during my first job in Tennessee, it was practically a criminal act to take a square photo. Unless you were shooting Polaroid or medium format - you just didn't do it.

With the advent of camera phones and "cool" Apps - the world is square again. You no longer have to worry about how to design around a vertical or a horizontal image. Square composition is aesthetically calming and there is something inherently "artsy" about the square. Here's some square images from my recent trip to Missoula.

Night Out...

It was a fun night out with my lady. Lots of wine and lots of great 80's covers by our bud Nick Spear.
